Jon Whiteley looks at the key points to consider when tackling diversity
Diversity in the workplace is not just a one-off project, but an ongoing practise of recruiting and retaining an engaged, diverse workforce who all share and believe in the values of the organisation. It is an important part of your employer brand and the thoroughness of the research, planning and ongoing commitment internally will determine its success.Leadership, data management, behaviours and policy are all important and the basis for this has to be a solid programme of research within your organisation.
About Jon
Jon's background is in Retail Financial Services where he was Senior Diversity Manager at Lloyds TSB and directed key strategies for the Board and senior manager populations and has worked with a broad range of clients including, Npower, British Airways and Merrill Lynch. He has recently written the "One Stop Guide to Managing Diversity" for the CIPD and is a regular commentator in the press and on radio. Jon has recently sat on the Ministry of Defence Strategic Diversity panel and is a founding member of the European Supplier Diversity Network. Jon works with us on key client projects providing a key input into the outcomes and implementation of policy and practice.
